Healing Sound Bath with gary posner

  • Transformation Center CT 7 Reimer Road Westport, CT, 06880 United States (map)

Sound Baths are a combination of restorative yoga, meditation and a sacred sound concert. They have been shown to reduce stress, enable deep relaxation, enhance creativity, uplift the spirit and help with insomnia. Sound Meditations slow down your brainwaves and guide you into a deep meditative state or altered state of consciousness. Participants lie down comfortably and then are “immersed” in the sounds, vibrations and harmonics of the instruments. Gongs, Himalayan bowls, crystal singing bowls, tuning forks and shamanic percussion instruments are played in a clinically tested, therapeutic sequence to maximize benefits. No previous knowledge or experience is required. Sound is a very accessible form of meditation where benefits are usually experienced right after the first session.

A recent study in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine found that weekly hour-long Sound Meditations help to reduce tension, anger, anxiety and increase the spiritual well-being in adults and children.

We will start the evening with a meditative Labyrinth Walk. Walking the Labyrinth is an ancient practice of meditation, reflection,  contemplation and prayer.  You can use your time in the Labyrinth to scan your body or mind, and see what questions you have brought, or where you are in need of release. Then bring them into the Sound Bath to connect with your higher Self and Divine Light.

We will then find a comfortable spot, do some wonderful toning breaths and then lay down for a 60 minute healing Sound Bath. The session will end with a Chakra Clearing Bija Mantra and then there will be time for a Q & A.
